CHRONIC STRESS

Are you feeling overwhelmed? Perhaps you experience your mind as seemingly going a million miles an hour and your body feeling revved up and unable to settle? If this is how you experience yourself most of the time, it's time to find some relief.
From a physiological standpoint, when you are chronically stressed out, your nervous system is most likely stuck in fight or flight mode. This is like driving with your car's gas pedal floored all the time - not very safe or good for the engine! A continually overactive nervous system, when it is not able to calm, will start to wreak havoc on your body, prompting conditions such as hypertension, tension headaches, muscle pains, insomnia- to name a few unsettling side effects of too much stress.
If this hyper-stressed state goes on too long, you can move into more of a freeze or shutdown type state where it becomes harder to motivate, think, feel and problem solve. This state is like driving your car around with both the gas and brake pedals pressed to the floor at the same time - really not good for your health! Physically, in this state, you might experience chronic fatigue, stomach and bowel issues, muscle aches and pains, decreased sexual desire, low energy, and brain fog - to name a few undesirable issues that could arise from prolonged, chronic stress.
This is a fast paced world. It can be very hard to slow down. Sometimes, you just need a little guidance - some tools and ideas to calm and restore balance to your overwhelmed mind and body.
